What if instead of giving the military another 500 billion dollars to piss away to Boeing, we, and hear me out cause this is an insane idea I know— PAY THE FUCKING DEFICIT DOWN. Less interest and debt now means MORE cool shit like healthcare and space

Why not just use the 500bil for public programs directly But also, the Military is a public program in a lot of ways

1. Paying down deficit would see a direct economic benefit and would free up the money that we’re paying for interest right now 2. Yeah maybe but it’s still a better benefit than paying $30k for a trash can on a plane

Because by freeing up our interest payments we can activate more funds to be used for public programs In the senses that it does provide jobs and benefits for some, yes. But that 500 billion doesn’t benefit you in any tangible way, it benefits the shareholders at Boeing, Raytheon, and Lockheed Martin

It does if I work for Boeing, Raytheon, Lockheed, their contractors, the towns they employ, the military’s employees, the towns they support , their families
