Liberal is actually majority Latino, as it is a major meatpacking center. The three cities of Dodge City, Garden City, and Liberal are known as the Golden Triangle of Meat Packing. These meatpacking plants attract a large population of immigrant workers. Most are Latino, but there is also a notable Muslim minority primarily from the Horn of Africa.
