Do you know what is considered religion in the USA? Any moral set of standards agreed upon in a group really (like the satanic temple) not all has to believe in deities or hold rituals

Very sweeping statement 😬 any group that exists long enough will have people that do bad things in under its name. But there are WAY more religions than just Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism. They are the most common ones but there are so many THOUSANDS of religions so like let’s not act like we know everything about all of them and they are inherently evil and indoctrination

The older the religion, the more likely it is to be founded on outdated principles like sexism or racism, but new religions are started quite often and not all of them have history spanning centuries

I’m atheist so I’m not saying this because I’m in a religion, but like let’s be respectful about other people and not make statements about them when you don’t know them and aren’t apart of them or have any experience or connection to it.

Religion has been exploited by the most obscenely powerful men to consolidate their power and subjugate the masses. It’s been used by the educated and literate elites to tell the uneducated and illiterate poor what is and isn’t okay. Sects of major religions were founded as cults and trafficking operations. However, the vast majority of followers of any religion are good people at heart. In its simplest form, it’s an explanation of what’s after death. Nothing inherently wrong with that.
