I have a friend who this happened to. She dated a guy pretending to be liberal for almost a year before he revealed he was MAGA. She’s been in therapy for 6 months because of it. This should absolutely be illegal.

Withholding or lying about information such as political beliefs in order to have sex with someone should be illegal. It should be in a somewhat less serious sub category of rape by coercion.

Depending on the state this honestly sounds like a good Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress claim, she might be able to make him pay for her therapy

For almost a year? I’m pretty sure anybody wouldve been able to detect it a few weeks in. Someone who is MAGA can’t hold it in for that long. Thered be signs

She was absolutely obsessed with that piece of shit. I figured it out about halfway through their relationship and tried to tell her but she wouldn’t listen. Once she figured it out and he came clean about it they only lasted a few weeks after that
