I think a lot of it’s the second one. Media has greatly amplified the idea of false allegations to men, and I suspect that’s so that men will be inclined to dismiss real allegations as just being fake.

Yeah generally speaking I think most people who hold this sentiment already think it’s ok or actively participate in things that would be considered sexual assault or rape. Like having sex with someone who’s too drunk to consent
