They won’t, because like the Germans those of us privy to what’s going on are waiting on the world to do something because we think it’s so much bigger than us, while those who live in the dark or those who know and simply don’t mind march forward in propping up these horrors. Every day we go to work we send more money to the machine that is raping women in cages, killing citizens in the street, and beating our neighbors. They beat our veterans. They beat our children. They have done it all

Nothing currently happening is new in the US just more mainstream with people actually being able to have a voice on it. We aren’t going back to 1920s Germany we are going back to 1920s America

I’d like to think that our system would give the people an opportunity to deny fascism a seat of power, but after seeing the total collapse of the system over the past couple decades I don’t think I have that faith anymore. I don’t want this to be the case but I think it’s going to get worse and worse until it can’t get worse anymore and only then will people finally think to themselves “maybe we should do something”

The issue is that we are facing a type of threat we were taught our whole lives could never happen here. It’s reminiscent of 9/11. Nobody took it seriously at first because we assumed it couldn’t happen here. We were taught checks and balances would protect us from a President who would ever think to use a masked police force on the American people. The system has given the opportunity, first to the government within those checks and balances, and the second to the people

We have the right to alter and abolish government when it is no longer acting in the interests of the people and we have the right to bear arms, but most Americans don’t realize those two rights are our insurance against a fascist takeover
