My campaign idea: a Muslim man and a Baptist preacher with the message that “however you pray, our creator called us to serve the vulnerable”. I know religion gets used as an excuse for very human wrath and hatred. But the core teachings of both are at their core, about love and service. (I’m not religious, but admire what those teachings can be at their best. Theology aside, the core message about how we ought to treat one another is the same. People just turn it into a tool for wrath)

So, on immigration. Bible says: The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself Quar’an says: do good to parents, relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the distant neighbor, the companion at your side So they run on that value system

On food programs Bible: “I was hungry and you gave me food.” Qur’an: “They give food to the needy, the orphan, and the captive.”

Could do it all day. The point is a campaign that isn’t exclusionary or full of wrath, but instead uses the shared values from both faiths to actually help people. It could be so beautiful to see
