“I don’t know, I need to listen to my lawyers. Whatever they say” is what actually what Trump said. The fake news (like BBC) love taking quotes out of context. Glad they’re being sued to oblivion.

Any answer other than an unwavering yes contradicts the oath of office, which states: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” It doesn’t exactly leave much up to interpretation.

“I have to follow what the Supreme Court says. What you said is not what I’ve heard the Supreme Court say,” is what Trump said. He said “idk” because he disagreed with the reporter’s interpretation
