i may absolutely despise what pretty much everybody says on this chat, but i think i found something we can agree on. politicians should not be allowed to accept any donations from anyone. whether campaigning or not

At the very least we should limit the amount of donations that can come from individual actors. I think crowdfunding isn’t inherently problematic but it’s a big issue when any one donor gives too much money. I think the London mayoral elections give each candidate a set number of funds to use on their campaigns, but I don’t know that that would work on a national scale.

Because there should be some way to fund candidates. If it’s solely based on individual funds to run we would limit elections to the people wealthy enough to fund their own campaigns in entirety.
