then why’d the Republican government promise to release the files, and then say there was no list, and there was a list but it was a democrat hoax, and there was a list but actually it only had democrats on it, and say Trump was in the files because he was a secret informant, and give out almost-empty binders “containing” the Epstein files to conservative influencers, and finally agree to release the files but only release about 1% of them, heavily redacted, and refuse to release any more?

Maxwell got convicted in 2021, 900 pages of documents related to her court case were released in Jan 2024 under Biden. I imagine they were investigating others. Another 4500 pages in early 2024 from the Virginia Giuffre case. meanwhile Trump said he’d release them soon and then, uh, avoided doing so for as long as possible before releasing a bunch of redacted documents that still didn’t have a good picture for him. also he moved Maxwell to a nicer prison in what was def not quid pro quo 100%

…if you release a bunch of documents that are covered in black ink, then you can kinda lie about the numbers. Why’d his government contradict itself so many times about the files? Why did he move Maxwell to a better prison and consider the possibility of a pardon for a literal sex trafficker? Why did he say he barely knew Epstein despite a long friendship? Why were certain pictures deleted from the released files? Like, you gotta see the facts at some point.
