Why do we consider Hitler to be worse than someone like Mao or Stalin who were responsible for the deaths of millions too?

It’s the Vienna school of fine arts… they are technically responsible for the creation of the Nazi party.

Well we were allied with Stalin during WWII and Mao was kind of irrelevant to us. Hitler was a direct enemy to the state

Cold War Stalin was a direct threat. (He also managed to kill half of one side of my family, but that’s more of a personal thing)

Pretty sure there was plenty of Cold War propaganda, it’s not like we were glazing Stalin

Perhaps it’s the number or portrayals as the “big bad guy of this time period” We have Hitler clocking in with… too many to count depictions and you’re right, we don’t glaze over Stalin, but he wasn’t even the bad guy in “Death of Stalin” (Great film. Highly recommend it.)
