Just in my area, one of our Republican Congressmen is up for re-election. He is scared shitless that he won’t be re-elected, so he has resorting to blatantly lying in his campaign. He lies about what organizations endorsed him, he lies about his Democrat challenger being a criminal under FBI investigation, etc. It’s bad enough that he’s being sued over it.

But guess what? He doesn’t care if he’s being sued. In fact, he doesn’t care that his entire campaign is based on lies. Because he can just pay any fines with his war chest/PAC money and wealthy donors. It really costs him nothing. As long as it wins him the election, he sees nothing wrong with blatantly lying to voters.

But it gets worse! He hired someone to literally stalk and harrass his Democrat challenger. The stalker literally follows the challenger everywhere recording him and harrasses him in hopes that the challenger will get pissed off, which would give them footage of the challenger looking like a dick that they can use in ads because voters wouldn’t know the full story. The stalker has been following him everywhere for a whole year now.

But that’s not all! The Republican challenger for the elected official I work for is literally crazy. Like he’s nuts, and I’m not just saying that because he’s the challenger and I disagree with him. He’s actually crazy. Most recently, he decided to dox everyone in my office, even though we don’t even do campaign work. He is spreading our full names and our SALARIES on social media. As in, he lists the exact salary for each staff member because we have different salaries since our positions and

experience are different. It’s fine to share our names for everyone to see, but our salaries???? That’s fucking crazy and so dirty, especially since, again, we don’t even do campaign work. We’re a legislative office. Imagine having your salary being spread all over social media with the intention of spreading it as much as possible. That’s just fucking wild.

And don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying Democrats are perfect. I’m sure plenty of Democrats have done their fair share of dirty shit. That’s just the sad reality. But the whole political campaign scene is so much dirtier than most people know and something seriously needs to change because some of the tactics are really bordering on illegal.
