Anyways to actually make a valid comment, I’m glad not to be a MAGA republican. I’m not republican to begin with on any sort of spectrum, but the non-maga republicans can actually be pretty chill. Emphasis on can, not will.

nothing quite like being anti-immigration, anti-gay marriage, anti-abortion, anti-healthcare, anti-food stamps, and anti-public schools is a *chill* Republican way instead of the MAGA way. i think people on this forum must be like 18-19 atp.

I mean I agree with you entirely, but I understand what they’d mean. Seeing Mitt Romney talk about how Iran is wack and AI is a serious concern makes me yearn for pre-2008 republicans. Then I remember Iraq and the Abu Ghraib apologists and I want to vomit in my mouth.

the reality is that nobody with money gives a shit abt the “culture war” and both the republicans and democrats focus on opposite sides of the issue to galvanize their bases and distract from how little either is interested in actually improving the lives of Americans.

Elon musk is the richest person on the planet and he is vehemently anti trans because his daughter is transgender. It’s not just a political tool. Believe it or not people can be racist or hateful even when they have money 🤯🤯

Elon musk also paid for her GAC to some extent if I’m not mistaken. I tend to believe they fell-out for other reasons and Elon used her to aid in his right wing pivot. I agree, rich people are also often prejudiced, but I find that they rarely allow it to breach policy positions unless it somehow aids their bottom lines. Trump was pro-gay when it benefited him. He’s obviously racist, but would never proclaim such. Idt public rich people allow their real opinions to be known very often.

I’m a Republican and I’d like to tell you that not every Republican is the same. I am not anti-immigration, anti-food stamps, anti-public schools, or anti-health care. I 100% am anti-abortion though as I don’t believe in any scenario that taking of an innocent human being is moral. I wish for ICE to be abolished, for all aid to Israel to be cut, for free healthcare and free education. We’re not all cut from the same cloth.

Is there any other reason other than abortion that makes you support republicans? Why would you want to vote for republicans if you support abolishing ice, free healthcare, and cutting aid to Israel?

In truth, I view Republicans and Democrats as two wings of the same bird. They may appear different, but they serve the same purpose. To tear apart, and distract the American people. Keep us distracted. I’m a registered Republican, that’s all. I don’t support almost ANY Republican across the entirety of the United States except for Thomas Massie, and that’s solely for his stances against Israel. Almost every Republican are people I’d never want around me, and that goes for a lot of Democrats too

MAGA ≠ Republican. Human beings are human beings, regardless of the stage of life they’re in. Life, is life. A human, is a human. The right to live applies to them, the same as it does to you and I. Everyone believes in bodily autonomy so much, but not in the bodily autonomy of these innocent human beings?

I never said MAGA was Republican. That’s why I said MAGA or Republican I said you don’t align with either. No human being has the right to live off the body of another to survive. Only fetuses are apparently.

The fact that fetuses aren’t sentient only makes anti—abortionists more weird. Because imagine being so adamant that non-sentient creatures deserve to “live” when they cannot experience life? Only to grow up unwanted. An insane perspective only forwarded by religious groupthink.

Or you don’t want to hear about the fact that you believe fetuses deserve more rights than actual human infants.

Imagine having fallen so far from having any basic empathy for your fellow man that you start restoring to calling them “creatures”. I am not any less human outside of the womb than I was inside the womb. What an incredibly backwards thought process.

I do not believe that unborn humans deserve more rights than newborn children. I believe every human, regardless of the stage of life they’re in, deserves the right to live. What by me being pro-life means I believe unborn humans deserve more rights than newborn children?

are human beings not creatures? is that what ur hung up on? not the fact that your entire belief system demands you to assert that non-sentient ~human fetuses~ have more rights than any other baby or child or adult alive in this world right now?

their right to live demands that they live off the body of another human being. YOU do not have the right to do that. i don’t either. no one does. even if you want to live off the person who gave you life, your own mother. even if your mother chose to have you. what you demand is special treatment for fetuses who have no and cannot experience life, to elevate them above even a baby who’s just been born.

It’s not a matter of whether or not humans are creatures, but you would rather resort to calling them creatures, as if they are lesser than what they are - human beings. Me believing that every unborn human has the right to life ≠ believing they have MORE rights than an adult or newborn human. EVERY human has the right to life.

To be against women’s right to choose you MUST believe that fetuses deserve more rights than born humans. You cannot support the pro life movement without believing in fetus supremacy. And hearing that makes YOU uncomfortable but it is not my problem. Have a GREAT day. Try stealing your mom’s kidney against her will when ur dying of kidney failure & see how it goes.

There’s a lot of republicans I know that are not this black-and-white version of the whole that you’re envisioning. They are quite literally the definition of “government gotta get tf out my business”, including marriage, abortion, and immigration. I have my gripes with them about the belief that healthcare can be monetized, but I’ve yet to hear an argument against food stamps or free school lunches. Maybe try to understand people rather than jumping them for a party.

I am talking about the Republican Party’s policies and platforms. What Republicans vote for. I am aware people have complex views. But what does it mean to be a Republican? It means something. And that something is not pro-abortion, when the platform was and has always been the opposite. Willfully ignoring the party platform to talk about exceptions is unproductive. Unless they don’t vote for Republicans, and they don’t support the platform… but then why call yourself a Republican at all?

this separation and us vs them mentality is the exact thing keeping us from reaching class consciousness; we are all under the power of capitalism and this individualistic mindset is what keeps terrible people in power and the rich gaining more and more while you, your friends, me, and the less fortunate continue to give $ to them and consume beyond our means

surprisingly, everyone wants water, food, healthcare, a stable climate, joy, etc and to provide for themselves and their loved ones without having to worry about clocking in for their 3rd job or work like a dog to live. it’s just that this system keeps us from actually acknowledging the fact that we all want the same thing

their party calls them RINOs: Republican In Name Only some of them definitely need to read up, but some of them just dishonestly frame the party as more ideologically diverse than it is, using their own positions as evidence. the reality is they are a negligible minority with precisely zero motion or influence and may be largely disregarded when it comes to representing party values. their own party rejects and labels them as opponents. they've had 10 years to regain control, and failed

Ik everyone has reasons for believing what they believe and there are echo chambers and propaganda and bots manufacturing social consensus. Its just hard to not just be angry at republicans for not feeling the same moral indignation that a lot of us are feeling

women have a right to life too. pro choice people don’t view it as ending a life. Late term abortions were never legal. I would rather women have access to abortion (which actually results in fewer abortions taking place overall) than support a party that doesn’t want to allow exceptions for rape or to avoid detrimental health outcomes for the mother. It seems like the objectively more humane option to me
