Right before the last Falklands war, the UK was planning on giving the islands up. Then Argentina went to war about it and the British overnight developed very strong feelings about the islands. As fucked up as Britain is, I think this is something that would unify all their parties.

The problem of colonialism was that it displaced native people, not that the concept of settling somewhere is bad. The Falklanders didn’t displace anyone.
