My point is that scandals are not really why a nation collapses. Like the leaders can be pedophiles all they want, but usually it’s economic reasons that a government collapses. If you have a house, food, clothes, entertainment, then you’re not going to get yourself killed in a riot just because the leaders are diddlers

Scandals aren’t going to be the sole reason a nation collapses but tons of revolutions and political upheavals have been triggered by them. Stare that breaks the camels back so to speak. Things like the Affair of the Necklace, the videos that helped set off the protests in Nepal, etc. 100% have had huge impacts on regime changes historically
