There’s kind of two main arguments. The first is that inbreeding is bad so there’s a risk of creating a child with significant disability. But if you apply this same logic to say two unrelated people with a recessive genetic disease, there’s some concerning implications.

The other is that usually a relationship if this sort would be abusive in some way or another. There would usually be some form of power imbalance that would make that sort of thing unethical at least in the majority of cases. Logically this should also be applied to step relatedness or adoptive relationships too.

But even those two arguments don’t cover all possible examples so I don’t really know of a blanket objective argument that would apply for all cases

There’s still risk of it regardless. Accidents happen, and more often than not it is a situation of grooming anyway. Plus again, ew? Additionally it simply isn’t natural, the natural instinct is to diversify the gene pool, not regenerate from the same group

“It isn’t natural” isn’t a particularly good argument if we think about where else that is used. I think the abuse argument is better because that applies in many if not most cases but it’s still not ironclad.

I consume a lot of philosophy and this is one of those common situations where once you actually start philosophizing about something enough you get some really uncomfortable realizations.

the conclusion i’m looking at so far is maybe it’s subjective but idc it’s gross and maybe in 100 years there will be a movement to say it’s bigoted to think that but idrc and hope i never live to see it

Yeah I’ve kind of settled into it being gross and I’m fine with it continuing to be a social taboo but I really haven’t been able to think of an argument against like two gay cousins or something :/
