Okay some of y’all NEED to actually do some research on Israeli politics because it’s fucking bad but “Netanyahu is the pro-Palestinian candidate” is such an insane misrepresentation drawn from a single quote from a single opposition party.

Like no man, it’s not the case that all the opposition parties are worse than Netanyahu. Most of them are pretty fucking bad by any normal standards but they’re generally neutral or better.

People hear one quote from Avigdor Lieberman and think he’s representative of the entire Israeli opposition and not part of a middling power Russian secular Jewish party.

not all of the opposition parties obviously but which of them are less bad than netanyahu are serious contenders, or have a remote or better chance of having considerable influence in government?

This is the current polling predictions. Netanyahu’s party is Likud. Yashar and Together are both newly made centrist political alliances. I would say on most Palestinian issues they are comparable to or slightly better than Netanyahu. They are significantly better towards Arab citizens of Israel though. The real change is with The Democrats. They are against Israeli expansionism.

And part of national policy will be determined by what political alliances need to be made. An alliance with the Arab Joint List to secure a majority (has happened once before but is fairly unlikely) would be different than an alliance relying on smaller right wing parties.
