Cultural appropriation is bad when it is done in an offensive manner, or when people from that culture have expressed a desire for outsiders not to do that. What is NOT bad, is wearing a cultural clothing item that people from said culture are totally fine with you wearing. Just let people from the culture actually express whether it’s okay. Don’t assume for them.

i might not be expressing this properly, but wasnt wemby *experiencing* the culture, and not like appropriating it? he goes to the monks and spends a lot of time living and learning from them. hes not doing it in any way that is harmful or disrespectful, at least not that has been vocalized. hes not haphazardly/offensively borrowing bits and pieces or stereotyping it or anything.
