What is this headline? In the first sentence of the article it says boats deploying mines which is a valid target in combat.

I feel like I shouldn’t have to explain how any and all Iranians don’t count as enemy combatants. You can’t just shoot whoever you want aimlessly on sight. That’s literally a war crime. You have to identify that they’re an enemy combatant that’s trying to attack you first. Jesus fucking Christ.

What if the enemy uses civilian vessels for a military purpose? Under the “laws” of war you mentioned any vessel suspected of being used for a military purpose is by definition a military vessel and can be treated as such. Same thing with hospitals, if you use them to store weapons or as a base of operations it loses all protection under the laws of war. That’s part of the reason why civilian casualties were so high in Gaza. So many people don’t understand the Geneva conventions and
