
Americans do not experience what they experience. My boyfriend’s family spent thousands of dollars and went into debt just to get his grandmother out of Venezuela so she could be safe. They feared for their relatives’ lives. If you’ve never had to flee your country to survive, maybe sit this one out.
yes venezuelans have been going through a whole hell of a lot under the dictatorship, but just because they are celebrating right now does not mean they will be celebrating for long. have we forgotten that the american president has no care whatsoever for the citizens of venezuela and this is solely a power move for resources? yay the dictator is gone, that doesn’t mean venezuelans will be cheering when they cannot elect new leadership because america is occupying their country.
He does have a little bit of a point though, who’s to say Maduro’s disappearance isn’t going to cause a foot race for power, either from high ranking Venezuelan officials or America themselves? On top of this, Venezuelan oil accounts for nearly 1/3rd of the Venezuelan economy, and now that Trump’s made it VERY clear he wants at least a good chunk of it, what’s stopping Venezuela from complete economic collapse? All I’m saying is, the sudden removal of a leader, autocratic or not,
