
Eh. Feels like an oversimplification. Anarchist societies tend not to persist because authority is useful. There is a value to the ability to direct the movement of resources. All the way back in ancient Mesopotamia, temples were able to organize the trade and distribution of goods, enabling more luxury to their cities than could exist otherwise.
Authority is, inherently, likely to be abused. Those who have it are going to use it to enrich themselves. But organized governments tend to appear again and again because they are useful. Take Rome. Was it good or was it bad? If you were a Gaul subject to genocide under Caesar, or a Thracian enslaved in the arena, your answer was easy. But the resource and knowledge distribution allowed for unprecedented quality of life and population increases around the Mediterranean.
