Is it bad that I use ChatGPT to report on news cases because every actual website I try to use has a million ads or just so much fluff added to it. Like I don’t care that you interviewed someone’d 3rd cousin

Yes it’s bad. Don’t let third party sources dilute the flow of information. This is quite literally the goal of specific AI features like the one Google recently implemented for its search engine. Please just look for the truth. Even certain subreddits like r/news or r/law are good at linking relatively clean articles

If google / any news source actually cared, they’d allow me to block certain websites from ever showing up again (google) or stop wasting my fucking time with nonsense (any news). I don’t know why I’m blamed when we’re all pawns in their game

AI isn’t inherently wrong and that’s something we need to get past. If you’re using it to steal someone’s art then yea sure. If you’re using it to save you time by not doing mind-numbing tasks then I’d say it’s a good use

I’m not I hate corporations lol I can also like the technology and want it to be properly regulated. Not everything about AI is evil there’s genuine potential uses for generative AI in research and data analysis and other jobs that humanity should strive to automate so we can focus on actual meaningful work like environmental and the arts
