Although I don’t quite agree that it should be banned I do absolutely spite the white nationalists and fascists, especially in the last 10-20 years or so, who co-opted the flag such that so many POC and LGBT people feel this way

Listen. I get where you are coming from. But come down from the ledge on this issue. Breathe a moment and strive for a new way forward for America. Instead of jumping to absolutes because you’re missing the forest through the trees. It’s also a flag that’s been subject to changes with time. Keep that in mind too.

I mean obviously it’s going to depend who you ask but I really don’t think much of the world sees the US flag on a comparable level in terms of “offensiveness” to the swastika or Nazi flag. That feels like you just made that up completely out of your ass for the sake of an argument lmao. I feel like the best thing we can do actually is to carry it with pride at protests, parades, etc. It’s only a hate symbol if we just let fascists claim it for that purpose

There are countless places where “death to America” is a common sentiment. It’s really not that far of a reach to say that many places victimized by American imperialism view our flag like we would the swastika.
