If assault weapons are so dangerous, then why is Virginia…
1) allowing existing owners to keep theirs, without registration; and
2) allowing sales until June 30, when selling them becomes illegal?
I’d assume the main reason is to avoid having it struck down in federal courts under the 2A, but I haven’t been keeping up with this particular subject so I may be missing context.

Idk but the 2A task force should sue them in federal court

I also imagine that a lot of people would said weapons would open fire on the government if they didn’t grandfather clause existing owners
