NSDAP- National Socialist German Worker’s Party. National is the word you are mistaking for Democratic. Hitler did so entirely to fool members of the working class, who understandably aligned with the real leftists of the SPD or KPD, into working for the interests of the Petite Bourgeois small business class. You are proudly incorrect. Prior to adding the “National Socialist” prefix, they were merely the German Worker’s Party, a misnomer ofc.
