he’s shifted away from grant-based aid, refused to allow Ukraine to strike long range into Russia (at first), publicly spread russian propaganda abt how they’re winning, pushed Ukraine to accept terms comparable to capitulation, removed Ukrainian prospects into nato and held off on even SELLING air defense systems during critical moments all while civilians women and children die daily and political isolation on both sides of the aisle call for a full abandonment of the country’s defenses

And this is after Ukraine willingly gave up their nuclear arsenal (3rd largest in the world) in exchange for American defense of its sovereignty. So realistically American boots should be on the ground and yet we don’t even want to sell them what they need to defend themselves

While I fully agree with you that growing the economy through our defense industry, it is the primary talking point that “we’re just sending cashbags of money overseas!” that I’ve gotta address and since that’s fundamentally not true ultimately this is how it comes out. Also the goal is to prevent wars by having all this might (so ideally none of these weapons are used on people)
