The neoliberal system that emerged after WW2 and snowballed through the Cold War into trumpism today is still that same villain. Just how the republic abandoned most of the galactic population to suffering the Empire did it directly. We are seeing that transition play out here at home now. Our nation has always been imperial and has committed acts against our ideals.
