Hamas killed ~800 civilians (including at least 36 children) and less than 400 military members Hamas deliberately targeted civilians and that’s unjustifiable. Action against the Israeli military would’ve been fully justified but that’s not what happened
October 7th was justified and Bibi let it happen, RIP to all the Palestinians who have since been killed in the genocide

Its so absurd for Israel and the west to create some of the harshest living conditions on the planet for people under illegal occupation and then sit back and finger wag at the explosions of violence from said people that were the entirely predictable result of horrifically inhumane policies. If you spend really any time condemning hamas for some type of unique moral failure then you have fallen for propaganda narratives that were written far before October 7th

1. All civilians have to serve in the IDF, all are military targets 2. No actual confirmed targeting of children by Hamas occurred, you are just repeating Hasbara

The first point is both morally and internationally incorrect. But keep trying. Both sides can be shitty at the same time.

Who made you the arbiter of morals? I’m an anti-Zionist Jew and I’ll say with my chest that every Israeli is complicit in their fascist and genocidal project. They are straight up Nazis and are morally identical to the fascists who exterminated my ancestors during the holocaust of bullets in Ukraine.

Few. Notes. One. I’m pretty anti Isreal on this one. But every. Implies every. So you’re in fact pro child murder on this one. By on your own words. Cool. We are both anti Zionist Jews. But you’re a kapo.

I think I made pretty clear that I was talking about adults over 18, meaning they served in the IDF. Hence why I challenged the claim that Hamas targeted children (obviously implying that would be wrong). Call me a kapo all you want, but you sound identical to a German decrying the Warsaw ghetto uprising.

I’m kinda against all violence. Right now that’s Israel’s violence against Gaza, but I’m also against the violence of October 7th.

That’s like saying an opposition to violence requires you to condemn a child for striking their abusive father. I think most people are against all violence ideologically but I don’t think that conviction requires you to critique the child in my example or Palestinians in Gaza as if they are proponents of violence. They did one of the exceptionally few things they were able to do in response to extreme violence and oppression.

I mean, it was still civilians

The other option is to lie down and take it, to be killed or displaced. It’s just not in human nature to do that, it’s unnatural for any non human animal too. A cornered raccoon isn’t an inherently violent creature for attacking the person cornering it, the violence is the fault of the person who cornered the guy in the first place

For example, the United States does a lot of bad shit and violently oppresses a lot of people. I’m assuming you’re American, you probably don’t want to be murdered for that either.

It was some civilians. The Israelis made sure of that, yes. Through illegal occupation the Israelis made sure that Palestine could not have a workable military or weapons anywhere nearly capable of attacking a military superpower. They made sure that Palestinians did not have freedom of navigation to stage attacks elsewhere. Made sure that the Palestinian population were used to seeing their own civilians slaughtered every day. What else could be the result of such policies?

I mean nothing alive wants to be murdered, myself included. But we live in the capital of an empire and our riches come from the suffering of others all around the world. Would I pass moral judgement on someone from the third world wishing or carrying out violence against the us? That is, simply retaliating in the smallest way with respect to our own crimes? Not really

? They took children as hostages, how is that not confirmed targeting of children

I made clear I was talking about targeting to be killed. There were children taken hostage in the chaos, and they were the first hostages to be exchanged and given back to their families. Some however were unfortunately killed in the bombings by Israel.

38 children under 18 killed, 42 taken hostage. Seem like targets to me

And Israel is responsible for every death. There has not been one confirmed example of a child killed by Hamas. Only unsupported Israeli Hasbara.

So we shouldn’t trust them either when they accuse Israel of genocide?

I wouldn’t appeal to them at all when discussing the overwhelming evidence of Israel’s genocide, even though they do in fact recognize it.

And why exactly would these sources decide to corroborate the worst possible accusation against Israel but then also peddle “hasbara” about crimes of its enemy that you would blame on Israel anyways even if you did accept it were true? That makes no sense

Because the genocide has reached a stage in which it is clearly undeniable. Make no mistake, they would absolutely continue to deny it if they could. They simply won’t backtrack on the Hasbara they aided in pushing shortly after October 7th.
