Why is “the first Christmas” always about Jesus, and not the pagan origins of the holiday of Christmas itself? That far predates Jesus’ birth

Because the nebulous pagan origins don’t have a standardized story which can be presented as a cohesive narrative. Also most people in America are Christian so they associate the holiday with Jesus
