Transgender and Gay children exist and they deserve to be respected and not have their identities ruthlessly questioned and belittled by [usually but not always conservative] adults that have no idea what they’re experiencing. That’s all. That’s the post.

Yes and no Yes Yes I was a “transgender child” in that I thought my big sister and her friends were really cool and would wear dresses and pretend I was a princess. My parents had absolutely no issue with this, and I eventually grew out of that identity. Now I’m a big ol manly man. They do exist, but children are too young to have such established identities. They’re still learning them for the first time, and to expect a child to know one way or another how they identify is absurd.

This just further proves my point. I know many people who had similar experiences to you. I also know many people who knew they were transgender from a young age and that did not change into adulthood. Just let it run its course, as it is harmless

Childhood and adolescence are for exploring your identity ideally uninhibited. I think it’s wrong to reaffirm any particular identity because I think it should be up to the child to explore and ask questions as they feel comfortable. A transgender child doesn’t exist, because a child has not fully grown into even their assumed gender. It’s kind of a misnomer. A child who doesn’t conform to the gender typical to their sex, does. Gay kids; my sister has been crushing on girls since pre-k. So yeah

I think that transgender children exist, but there’s a difference between someone who is like 6-14 identifying with a different gender and someone who is 15 or older doing it, the latter is much more likely to keep a more stable identity into adulthood. And either way, it doesn’t really cost anything or require any effort to just be respectful of it

100% agree on gay kids though kids usually know immediately, but not always, I didn’t know until I was 17, damn district honor band 😂
