Let’s be realistic, they’re not arresting millions of US Citizens at once across all 50 states for protesting. They don’t have the capacity to do that. Trump’s goal is to chill dissent, to make us think we’re powerless when we’re definitely not.
Donald Trumps is going to use the insurrection act of 1807 and during the protests on saturday. He is going to say every protestor is Antifa and mass arrests for terrorism will happen. It will genuinely be one of the darkest days in our countries history

It takes just 3.5% of the population protesting to enforce drastic change. It sounds crazy and far-fetched, but 11 million people protesting at once would be impossible to stop, and then claim that all those protesters were “violent” when there will be mass amounts of footage showing peaceful protesting.

They are going to arrest millions, they are going to arrest thousands. How ever many people you can put in a police bus, how ever fast that bus can put them in detention centers or jail, how ever fast that bus can get back, how ever fast they can put the next group of people, that will be how many people get arrested.

Authoritarianism relies on cynicism. None of this is inevitable, get that mindset out of your head. They want you to bend the knee in advance, don’t do it. Bending the knee and capitulating only makes this Fascism worse. Standing up to it early and often is what we must do to stop it.

Im afraid it is inevitable. People are going to be mass arrested in the name of terrorism. Authoritarianism relies on people who ignore that it is happening as well. Panic causes preparation. preparation causes readiness. authoritarianism doesn’t last in the first world unless people accept it or ignore it.

No, it’s not. That’s the entire point of Trump trying to create mass cynicism. We can’t ignore it happening, but we have to speak up while we can. Trump’s actually been getting quite desperate because he feels his grasp is already slipping, No Kings 1 being proof of that. We can be prepared while also staying vigilant and hopeful.

Trump is gonna try to throw the kitchen sink to retain a firm grip on power. The only way he does that, however, is if we allow him to by capitulating and acting like it’s inevitable. If we stand up and say “no way in hell” as a collective, he has no ability to grab absolute control because of clear, widespread, unified dissent. He can’t chill dissent when there’s too much for him to try to control.

I’m telling you, Trump is very desperate right now, because No Kings 2 will have much more people attending than No Kings 1. The sight of American flags flying, of people joyfully standing and speaking up for the change they want to see is what topples the image Trump wants to fabricate. Calling upwards of 10-12 million people “violent protesters” and “terrorists” for peacefully protesting won’t sit well with the vast majority of the American people.

Trump thinks people like you and I are fucking stupid and gullible. Fuck him for that, and if there’s anything the American people hate, it’s being assumed of as fools.
