These are the people that are like "both parties suck equally" (people are starving) "so I'm not gonna vote"

Ah yes let’s equate the two parties when one literally shut down the entire government to prevent costs from going up

yeah so i’m a liberal and i vote blue every time, and will continue to do so. i’m also not going to ignore that most dems are bought out by AIPAC and that most dems are for the establishment. we took a huge leap forward just for 8 dems to side with republicans to end the shutdown, and dems were literally winning. they will keep selling us out if they don’t get more progressive as a whole

Nah. moderate democrats are literally just as bad but in a different way. republicans want to actively try make your life worse. moderate democrats don’t want to do anything to stop your life from getting worse. this whole “well these guys are fine because the other side is worse” is fucking stupid and that rhetoric is the whole reason why we get weak ass dems in office

ummm i literally vote blue? i'm just not exactly the most enthusiastic about healthcare premiums increasing by $15,000 and rural hospitals shutting down, especially when dems were winning. a group of dems just voted to end the shutdown with no extension on aca subsidies

Because the other party is going to kill people.

what was the point of having a shutdown if they weren’t gonna negotiate on extending ACA subsidies? like literally what’s the point. people went hungry just for their healthcare to skyrocket anyway

They did negotiate. The problem was that it went on for long enough that some of them caved. All of them needed to hold the line, but some of them needed the government to reopen, in particular the senators from VA that have a lot of federal workers as their constituents

They weren’t supposed to go hungry. Trump defied a court order and the senate republicans refused to pass anything to continue funding SNAP through the shutdown

literally. the democratic party is full of purple dems, it seems like only progressives care about standing up to republicans

okay i get the logic behind that, there’s a senate race in va next year. but like most people know that snap getting withheld is not the dems fault, at least i hope. and most of those federal workers are from nova which is very much blue. i’m more so mad at the dems that split, but it’s also adding to me being tired of establishment dems in general. if the party were more progressive i feel like they’d put up a better fight

and i never supported the other party, i’m pro human rights. the dems have my vote easily, but i can’t help but think about how what you’re saying doesn’t mean much outside of america. the military industrial complex and imperialism are not partisan, millions have suffered at the hands of american imperialism and american politicians and no one has paid that debt. republicans obviously have more blood on their hands, but i hope you’re not implying that dems have none
