Respectfully, I’m not a fan of that pop history myth. Maybe it’s a joke? It’s not based in history and if you’re willing to learn there’s articles about how it’s a myth.

The Cecil Rhodes thing was a joke, 250~ years average span of an empire is not (source: https://pdodds.w3.uvm.edu/files/papers/others/2011/arbesman2011a.pdf). There are of course numerous exceptions and I would hardly even call it a rule, but it's still true.

Meh. It’s a joke but it’s also not a joke. That paper is really weird. The paper says the Byzantine empire lasted 350 years. Historians pretty much all trash the 250 thing.

There are 2 things I’m pedantic about. Library of Alexandria and empires 250. It’s point blank pop history and that’s my point. I’m sorry but I gotta defend myself here. All love.
