It was called the reign of terror for a reason. A good historical example of how, where possible, reform is generally a safer option than the complete restructuring of violent revolution. Revolution is a quick way to give rid of old systems of power, but the resulting power struggles and instability can lead to grave harm

I think some of us rhetorically view revolution as an immediate cure-all and don’t appreciate the massive risk that a revolution is. Revolutions should be viewed as a method of last resort which must be weighed against the existing violence and capacity for reform of whatever system is currently in place

Historically most revolutions tend to end in ruin, especially revolutions against a particular class (as opposed to ones that just seek independence)
