Why were democrats trying to run him against Collins? She’s one of the few reasonable republican senators who is principled and isn’t on the MAGA wave. She’s voted against Trump before on bills and been attacked by him on truth social. Doesn’t make sense for democrats to push a risky candidate to unseat a level-headed senator who’s kept a lid on Trump.

They haven’t for months after previous scandals. Nazi tattoo was fine, physical abuse was also okay, but nowwwww this whole rape thing just came out of nowhere, right? How could anyone have seen this coming?

A tattoo can be forgiven, people grow and I think everyone should be given a chance to redeem themselves. The first round of reporting re: his relationship troubles was spearheaded by a conservative pundit with a very clear axe to grind. Believe it or not there were reasons to suspect what was being reported about him, but now that it’s reached a boiling point people are calling for him to drop out. Even then you still had a constant discourse about whether or not he should be running at all

He's been a clear serial liar for a while. He never claimed to have "grown" out of a Nazi phase. He claimed ignorance when he obviously wasn't ignorant on what it was. He was extended chances the left never extends to anyone just because he is "one of us." Denying this is stupid, reflect on the hypocrisy, and make sure not to fall for it again

Unlike a certain starboard side of the political spectrum, the left seems perfectly capable of condemning rapists and disavowing them from their movement. You know, seems a hell of a lot better than what the GOP or centrist Dems can do
