and no, history is not deterministic, you’re correct. the only thing that capitalism guarantees, because of its own contradictions, is its collapse. this can look like revolution, ecological collapse, or inter imperialist war. That’s not what Marx believed 🤦. He thought we naturally moved from different economic models bc of their contradictions. Again I don’t think that’s panned out at all during all of history. Capitalism has been the “least worst model” we’ve had so far.
