I honestly don’t see a reason not to split the blue and red states anymore. Economically, politically, and most important culturally. I’m tired of my tax money in a major GDP blue state going to support red states that contribute nothing

Do you think red states are uniformly red? Are you just willing to fuck over all the blue voters unfortunate enough to be stuck under red governments? Especially with regards to the South’s black population. And what about all the red voters within your own state? Outside of the small states of New England, every blue state has a large red rural population.

I live in the northeast and large red rural population is an overstatement. They produce nothing, have no political power, and are entirely subject to the decisions made in the cities.

My honest take? They can leave and nothing of value will be lost.

As for California? Well, they can leave and lose all their massive farmer subsidies if they want. No idea why they would, bc they won’t get anything like that in any red state

I mean ngl you being from the northeast explains a lot about this. You guys tend to demonize the entirety of red states, ignoring that they usually have large populations who are not happy with their governments and don’t deserve to get fucked over. Black people in the rural south, native Americans in the west, and a lot of urbanites in every red state.

Also I really don’t like it when republicans do the “you couldn’t survive without us” shit but like domestic agricultural production is still pretty darn important.

Empty upstate NY of all the bumfucks with rebel flags and move in the southern black folks. There’s plenty of room

The partition of India did not go well. Displacing people from where they have lived for decades or centuries does not go smoothly. The Gullah in South Carolina are already being colonized and gentrified by resorts, now they’re supposed to relocate to the north or else be victimized by radical red governments and economic collapse? What about all the native Americans? Are they supposed to abandon their ancestral lands?

And what about all the swing states? Is Georgia red or is it blue? Pennsylvania? Michigan?

What happens when, inevitably, the politics of a state shifts. a blue state turns red or a red state turns blue. What happens when red or blue cease to have meaning by the inevitable change in the politics of the day.

You’re explaining facts and logic to someone who forfeits their human capacity for rationalism
