I find it interesting how the same people who say Puerto Rico is a colony and should be independent are defending the colonial claims of Denmark on Greenland when they have very similar political statuses. Both self governing territories with citizenship

I believe the people of Greenland and puerto Rico should have the right to self determination . Puerto Rico keeps voting in favor of statehood, so I believe they should be an American state. Greenland is split between independence and staying w Denmark, so im chill w whatever they choose there. But they DONT want to be a US colony so I am against that.

It’s fine if it’s independent but dog, they’ve been there for 300 years

I do not defend Denmark’s colonial right to Greenland. I support the right of Greenlanders to choose their own destiny. Greenlanders want to be independent. They are moving towards that, but are not able to yet financially do so. Puerto Ricans have generally voted in favor of U.S. statehood. I have no opinion on what should happen to Puerto Rico beyond its whatever the Puerto Ricans want.

Netherlands had been in South Africa for over 300 years. That doesn’t mean it’s theirs

What the Greenlanders have been extremely consistent on, though, is not becoming American.
