How can we afford to spend billions on a war with Iran and not basic healthcare for our own citizens? Someone make it make sense

Unfortunately, covering healthcare for the entire US costs at least a trillion a year. One estimate of the cost of this war is $1B/day, so this is still cheaper than covering everyone for a year 😭 it’s crazy to think about

Not sure if you’re referring to free health care like it is in Canada. If so, I can promise it’s not what’s it’s cracked up to be. Yeah it’s free, but there’s so many stipulations that make it more difficult to actually receive the benefits
