It’s capitalism the owners of capital and laborers have direct opposite goals. Laborers want the most compensation for the least work while capital owners want more work for the least amount of cost. The whole system is built around you wanting more compensation and not getting it, and if you do it then hurts share prices which hurts you’re investments/retirement

The government could promote creativity, compassion, patience, courage, honesty, humility, loyalty, resilience, discipline, ambition, etc. But instead it does nothing

Actually they’ve tried that before, specifically with welfare reform, which only made things worse

The 1996 Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act was made to make people on welfare more “responsible” by being stricter with who could be on welfare, including limiting putting a lifetime 5-year limit on receiving welfare. While the amount of people on welfare decreased, the amount of people in poverty had very little change and the amount of people in extreme poverty increased

Are laborers and owners of capital static categories that people can’t move between? You describe how prices in labor markets work, why do you object to how prices are achieved in labor markets? How do you think labor should be priced?
