Why not both, but definitely a government should be heavily involved in reducing poverty. That’s the job, to “provide for the general welfare” of the US

I kinda want to know if the issue was that they didn’t want to help or they literally weren’t able to because they ran out

#1 most likely, dream city church has 20k+ weekly attendance. So likely they referred them to one of the social programs, rather than just give food to whoever showed up and asked.

I mean that still proves that they operate as a corporation to fill some pockets instead of being a haven to those in need which goes against plenty of bible verses and ofc, what that church claims and preaches. It’s not even like they’re asking for a place to stay or that the phone call was a constant thing, it was ONE lady asking a CHURCH for help in a time of need and didn’t get any

Churches operate as a non profit in return they are to aid their “community”. Most places she called said no immediately, few claimed aid was only for members. About 20% helped, mostly being minority churches or non churches like mosques. Church didn’t “run out”. The mosque she called asked what kind (brand) and if she could come there or if she wanted it delivered. Every church has enough money to buy.

Aid only for members is crazy 😭 I assume members have to donate or something?
