it’s because pre-stroke fetterman had so much potential and his team ran an excellent campaign (that included downplaying the severity :/). and he was running against a generationally weak republican, dr. oz, who was literally THE snake oil salesman and lived in new jersey. he was the obvious choice at the time even with a stroke. even now in a fetterman vs oz rematch, id hold my breath and pick fetterman
