I get where you’re coming from, but you gotta understand for a lot of politically moderate people, the only thing that will make them open their eyes is that realization of “oh shit, that could happen to me too” of seeing it happen to US citizens who look like them

It is problematic but it’s one of those things you have to overlook for the bigger picture. Empathy is something that should cross all barriers and boundaries, as should solidarity. It’s frustrating for black and brown people to be killed and wrongfully detained by ICE for decades, only for more people to start caring when Agent Orange starts goading them and a white man gets killed a few months later. As frustrating as it is tho, doesn’t matter rn

That, and unfortunately a lot of people will look for any reason to not be terrified and outraged. “Oh but she was an immigrant” “oh but she was being violent towards him!” That’s what the administration is trying to do for cases like him and Renee Good, cases that are pretty cut and dry senseless violence. If they can find a justification, they won’t care
