Not at all what I’m saying. Moduro is a shit dude. It’s good that he isn’t in power, and I’m sure the Venezuelan people are happy. The problem is, Trump violated both federal and international law. Claimed it was to stop drugs after releasing multiple convicted drug traffickers. Is now saying that everything will be fine as long as the next president does everything we say, or we’ll just take over. In reality he was just trying to “take back” oil reserves in Venezuela.
No kings, no dictators. That means I’m glad Moduro is out. I’m not happy with how it was done. And I’m not happy that Trump is using it to take more power for himself. The law exists for a reason. If he can just violate whenever he wants, without consequence, what’s to stop him from doing worse?
If I say what happened was wrong for Trump, it’s wrong for all of them. If they all carried out foreign military operations without Congressional approval, I stand by the fact that that is wrong. Besides, nothing done in the past is nearly as severe as what Trump did last night, and the UN’s meeting Monday to discuss the “dangerous precedent” this could set and how he violated international law. The severity is not comparable
Is it really liberation if we’re just taking over? It’s unspecified how he’s going to run things, or how long it’ll last, but he said he’s doing it. And it’s for himself because he’s in talks with oil companies to take more oil. All that’s going to do is line his and their pockets, while stealing the resources of another country we just forced into chaos.
Trump bombed a city in the middle of the night AND abducted their president and his wife. Plus the recent unauthorized strikes on supposed drug smuggling boats. By international law standards, yeah it’s more severe. And even if the UN does nothing, that’s not the point. The point is that he is in violation of federal and INTERNATIONAL LAW. Like they said, it sets a very dangerous precedent about what he can just do and get away with
The problem with the boats was that nobody actually knew if they were smuggling drugs. And they weren’t anywhere near the US. And the strikes were unauthorized. He just blew up a bunch of boats without knowing what was actually on them and said it was to fight drug smuggling. And the UN has already said they condemn his actions. As well as China, Iran, Mexico, Cuba, Brazil.
