Companies are not going to operate on illegally occupied territory that no other country recognizes. There is literally no point. And we already have full military access to it now.

You can literally just strong arm Europe into recognizing it then there’s simply no problem. We subsidize their entire existence, what will they do, say no?

They will say no, yes. And again, there is literally zero point to this, beyond theatrics. We have space force and air force bases there with no restrictions already. What do you even want here

Unilateral military control over future trade routes primarily, as the ice caps melt it will become more important. Direct no-duty access to their REM and Oil stores are a nice added bonus. Plus it makes the euros mad, and they stink.

We already have all that. We provide literally all the security for Greenland and in exchange they let us keep our strategic bombers and subs there. Sacrificing 70 years of diplomacy with an entire continent so some corporation not even based here can grab minerals is a horrible deal

If Trump wanted, he could offer a Compact of Free Association to sweeten the deal and they stay Denmark. Invading is like using a fire truck to put out a candle
