There are like, 3 communists in the US. Everyone grew up and turned to socialism or social democracy.
Ngl I only view communists as an ally due to our mutual hatred of Trump. As soon as Democrats are back in power I’m dropping their ass like a bad habit

I’m a market socialist and anytime a lib says something about communists I just assume they are talking about me too because just like republicans they don’t care at all to learn the difference

Socialism and Communism are on in the same… like definitionally, Socialism is the economic system of a Communist society, this post just makes it clear you don’t understand what any of the words you use mean.

I don’t know ANY libs who still bother talking about communism. Most of us are social democrats and know better.

Uh being a social fascist isn’t to be proud of. You can’t bandaid fix a fundamentally broken system.

Communism has a goal of eventually abolishing the state. Many socialists believe in some degree of free market. There is a ton of nuance between different leftist ideologies regarding end goals, values placed on democracy, and methods.

I’m assuming you’re using a derogatory term, not an actual one.

“socialism allows private property, uses democratic processes, and distributes resources based on individual contribution, while communism seeks to abolish private property, relying on state-controlled, collective ownership and distribution based on need”

Socialism doesn’t allow private property… nor does communism. You literally don’t know what you’re talking about. In a Marxist context private property means the means things like land, a factory, mineral rights etc. In a communist society you’d still own your toothbrush ffs. Socdems don’t repeat state department propaganda challenge: impossible.

It’s derogatory but also accurate, given that historically social democrats have sided with fascists against communists and communism. They are just the left wing of capitalism, not actual leftists.
