Your mistake is calling American healthcare fast and good. It’s neither of those things. It’s just also prohibitively expensive as well, for no reason.

I’m a med student. Our healthcare is the best by far… if you have good insurance/money. We have the best doctors, best hospitals, and best technology… by some distance. If you don’t have money or good insurance though you are fucked and that’s what makes it look “bad” on paper. It’s also most definitely faster than the other 2 countries here.

“If you have unlimited money our healthcare is the best” Okay so it’s the best for the rich. And the implication of the post is that to keep it good we need to keep it exclusive to the wealthy. Not buying it. If healthcare gets worse the poorer you are it ain’t good healthcare

That is kinda what the original post was saying, its fast and good, if you don't get the cheap variety

But what makes medicine expensive in America isn’t because it’s “so fast.” The price of everything is artificially inflated by insurance companies so they can *literally* steal from you. The implication of the post is that the REASON American healthcare is expensive is because it’s fast. Which is bullshit for multiple reasons.

Because it’s not just expensive for the rich guy. It’s expensive for everyone, and not particularly fast if you’re poor.
