I just don't anymore. I got into a huge fight about it with someone and said "but we dont like Trump and we dont want to be associated with him, so why are we automatically associating jewish people to their government" and I still haven't gotten a response lol

Uh the Israeli government isn’t even the government of most Jews since most Jews don’t live in Israel?

well yea, but I wanted to find a way to express my feelings using something they could directly relate to and understand. I find that it's much easier to get points across in arguments when you present how you're feeling in a way that is digestible to the other party otherwise it can be misunderstood. it's not always the best (like this one), but it does the job well enough. fighting over technicalities instead of the general gist of the idea can be frustrating though
