Americans tend to be more critical of their nation than most, or compare themselves negatively to others at a much greater frequency. Both the right and left do this for different reasons obviously but it’s really interesting to see.

Far right talks about how we’re a weak leftist, globalist LGBT society that should be more like Russia, and the far left talks about how we’re a fascist capitalist imperialist white supremacy society that should be more like China

In some ways we are, in some ways we’re not. But I’m more reaching for the extremes, with how many Americans on either side will side with our enemies over their own country

I will always side with Europe or Canada. Those will never be our enemies unless the right makes them so.

They’re not our enemies at all. I’m talking about Russia or China, whom my comment explicitly mentioned

I will never side with them, but I must make it explicitly clear, they're trying to make Europe and Canada our enemies. Trump is trying to burn our bridges here.

I agree with that, what I’m saying is that I mean ENEMIES like our actual enemies. MAGA simping for Russia and the far left simping for China over their own people

I mean it doesn’t hurt that there’s a lot of foreign propaganda at play to make those countries look like paradises
