Oh my god this reddit protest organizing bs never works out. I’ve seen this done for May Day like a million times before i learned to not pay attention. Nothing ever happens because you need ACTUAL ORGANIZATIONS who do REAL ORGANIZING with people in REAL LIFE to get mobilization like that. Your time is better spent organizing with your community and it’s organizations.

Also the graphics are so corny and patriotic you never see conservatives, including those who are anti-trump, pull of a successful mass protests without mass astroturfing

If you go the the subreddit, community outreach is exactly what they are doing. Sort by state, find your nearest city. You underestimate the internet and pessimism does nothing to help.

I am going to continue downplaying the internet because it doesn’t warrant any more serious attention. Reddit is good for workplace grievances and spreading the word but actually coordinating mass action is not going to be facilitated through reddit. The logistics for a protest of this scale requires national organization, national labor unions, etc. You’re not going to get that on reddit. That organizing will definitely happen, but *definitely* not because of a subreddit.

You are a very funny person if you think even 1% of these were coordinated through reddit instead of the redditors just showing up to a local protest (as they should) and taking pictures.
